Our Story

Paws 4 Cancer exists because of a tiny 8-week-old Golden Retriever who walked into our lives in April 2012. She was full of energy and attitude but also scared of being in a new place. This sweet puppy would grow into a loving, loyal, and caring dog who forever changed the fabric of our lives. Her name was Presley.

Presley was more than just a dog; she was a family member, a friend, a companion, and a teacher. She was loving, loyal, athletic, and caring. She taught us how to truly love something/someone, provide and care for something outside of ourselves, be selfless, be patient, and see the best in people. Most of all, she taught us to love with all our hearts and the hardest lesson of all: how to love something/someone so much to let them go when it’s best for them.

We were confused and terrified when we got her initial diagnosis. Everything changed when we were introduced to doctors and experts at Southeast Veterinary Oncology and Internal Medicine (SEVO), who guided us through Presley's diagnosis and treatment process. They were with us every step of the way, providing the best treatment and care for Presley while being realistic about the outcomes and quality of life during the treatments.

This experience inspired us to help others access the same treatment and care as we did.
